Saturno contro

Saturno contro
The Turkish-Italian director Ferzan Ozpetek (Hamam, Facing Windows) returns to Copenhagen International Film Festival with this powerful drama about a group of friends, who mourn the unexpected death of a young man. The handsome Lorenzo lives together with the successful writer Davide. They have a large circle of friends made up of widely different individuals, and they all meet up regularly for cosy discussions about all the world and his wife. In the middle of one of their dinner parties, Lorenzo collapses with a brain haemorrhage, from which he ends up dying after a long period in coma. This changes the dynamics among the friends, and Davide suddenly has to deal with Lorenzo’s parents, who didn’t know that their son was living together with another man. Ozpetek and his well-known actors sensitively explore the different characters in this fine ensemble piece that shows the importance of good friends.
