New head of BUSTER
Füsun Eriksen has been appointed as the new head of BUSTER and will take up office on 1 September 2007. Füsun Eriksen has previously worked for Trust Film Sales / Zentropa.
Since 1 July, BUSTER is administrated by Copenhagen International Film Festival.
”I am really looking forward to breathe new life into BUSTER, which is Denmark’s only established children’s film festival,” says Füsun Eriksen. ”Now that the festival is part of Copenhagen International Film Festival, we have a real possibility to raise our profile. Children are going to the cinema like never before - and the films on offer are good - but they can’t enjoy the kind of diversity that BUSTER can offer them.”
Füsun Eriksen studied business, and after many years in advertising, she was employed as head of PR, marketing and festivals at Zentropa’s world sales company, Trust Film. She has conceived marketing strategies for – as well as attended international festivals with – important Danish films such as Dogville, Manderlay, Brothers, After the Wedding, The Inheritance and Manslaughter.
”We are extremely happy to have such a dynamic new head of BUSTER. Füsun has a great amount of experience to her name and has a deep understanding of the international festival environment, from which BUSTER will benefit greatly in securing its future”, says the festival director Janne Giese.
The next BUSTER film festival will take place in March 2008.
