Mikkel Harder Munck-Hansen has been appointed CEO of the newly established Foundation of the Copenhagen Film Festivals, which is the result of the merger between the foundations behind Copenhagen International Film Festival and the Natfilm Festival.
Key activities in the new Foundation are three international film festivals in the Danish capital: BUSTER – Copenhagen International Film Festival for Children and Youth (Sep.19-26, 2008), CPH:DOX – Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival (Nov.7-16, 2008) as well as a brand new feature film festival to be launched in 2009.
Mikkel Harder Munck-Hansen studied at The Drama Centre London and The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Back in Copenhagen he then founded the influential theatre company Kaleidoskop, where he worked both as writer, director and actor. He later became head of national broadcaster DR’s Radio Drama (2000-2003) and then head of drama at The Royal Danish Theatre (2004-2008).
Munck-Hansen will kick start the new festival organization on April 7th, 2008.
The new Foundation’s board consists of Michael Christiansen (chairman), Jens Gehl, Kirsten Dalgaard, Jon Stephensen, Nina Crone, John A. Tønnes, Lise Lense-Møller, Lissy Bellaiche and Claus Hesselberg.
