This year’s competition films
When Copenhagen International Film Festival fades up for this year’s film event on 20 September, the audience can experience 147 fantastic films. 11 of them will get special attention, namely the films in competition, which compete for the six categories of the festival’s Golden Swan award.

Everything is perceived differently by different people - especially in Dito Tsintsadze’s drama. Society can not see anything except something abnormal in a friendship between a German man and a Georgian child, and does not see the ties that these individuals form as they get to know each other’s worlds. The story follows a diplomat at the German embassy in Tbilisi, whose lonely life one day changes when his wallet is stolen at the local market. He first reports the 12-year-old thief to the police, but then takes pity on him. A fragile friendship ensues, despite the age difference and the language barriers. Tsintsadze paints a complex portrait of a remarkable friendship with an original twist in the plot, which shall not be revealed here. Georgia supplies an exciting and atmospheric backdrop. The film has won numerous festival awards, among others for best screenplay and best actor.
